Contact

Genji Atelier supports international inquiries for Mitsuhiko Takada’s maki-e commissions. We assist with English communication, estimate coordination, progress updates, inspection, and international logistics.

The work itself is created entirely by the artist, Mitsuhiko Takada. Genji Atelier does not make, design, or sign the work, and is not the artist or the owner of the brand — it acts only as the international point of contact, handling language, coordination, and logistics so collectors abroad can reach the artist with ease.

General Contact

For questions and conversation

For general questions about the work, the maki-e process, exhibitions, or press, you are welcome to write to Genji Atelier in English or Japanese. We read each message and relay it to the artist as needed.

Correspondence is managed by Genji Atelier on the artist’s behalf.

Commissions

Inquiring about a commission

If you would like to commission a piece, the inquiry form is the best place to begin. It gathers the object, motif, timeline, and budget so the artist can consider your idea, with Genji Atelier coordinating the conversation and estimate.

International Support

What Genji Atelier supports

Genji Atelier exists so that distance and language need not stand between a collector and the artist. Its role is supportive and practical, covering:

  • — English communication and translation between you and the artist
  • — Estimate coordination, scope, and timeline clarification
  • — Progress updates and photographs at meaningful stages
  • — Inspection of the finished piece before it leaves Japan
  • — Insured international packing, shipping, and logistics

Mitsuhiko Takada creates each work by hand. Genji Atelier supports the international side of the commission only, and does not handle payment on this site.

Response Time

When to expect a reply

Messages are usually answered within a few working days. Because the artist works by hand and replies are coordinated across languages and time zones, a considered response sometimes takes a little longer — particularly during active production. Every inquiry is read, and you will receive a reply.
